Writing Experiment: Days 15 – 23

I haven’t been updating my Writing Experiment and if you look at the daily wordcount below, you will know why. I haven’t been writing for six days, but then I went to spend the weekend at my friend’s house. She is a writer as well and my sleepovers with her are always super productive.

I arrived on Friday evening, after work, and we had one writing session, that ended up with me adding over 1000 new words. On Saturday, we started with a writing session (1002 words), then I spent the remained of the day beta reading and editing my friend’s latest novel (50k). I didn’t want to end with just a 1000 words, so I did another writing session in the evening, with the help of write or die. As always, it worked perfectly as I ended up with 1812 words and reached another milestone. 20k! On Sunday, I started well enough, with the morning writing session resulting in 1001 words. The next one wasn’t as nice, I reached only 530 words. In the late afternoon, before I had to go home, I fired up write or die again and got additional 1113 words.

In the end, my weekend writing retreat resulted in 6489 new words and one fully beta’d novel. As always, it was incredible and I had a lot of fun along the way (between moments of “OMG I don’t want to, what was I thinkin? I hate this, I don’t know how to write.” – but those are usual moments of doubt, they happen to anyone).

Hopefully, I’m back on the roll. Keep your fingers crossed!
